About My Caregiver
We publish plain-English guidance for Australians arranging care — for themselves, a parent, a partner or a child.

Why this site exists
Arranging care in Australia is confusing the first time. The terminology shifts between sectors, funding sits behind separate assessment systems, and most of what turns up in a search is written to sell a service rather than explain a decision.
My Caregiver exists to fill that gap: to explain how care actually works, what questions to ask, and what to check — so that by the time you contact a provider, you know what you are comparing.
Our relationship with ORCAA
My Caregiver is published by ORCAA. When you are ready to look at actual providers, we send you to ORCAA Connect at orcaa.live, which is ORCAA's care-provider directory. ORCAA Connect is built from authoritative register data, presents transparent trust indicators, and does not sell ranking positions.
We disclose this relationship on every page rather than burying it. We do not reproduce ORCAA provider listings on this site, and we do not receive payment from the providers we might send you to.
We are not a government service
What we do not do
- We do not provide care, take bookings or arrange services.
- We do not screen, vet, verify or endorse individual caregivers or providers.
- We do not sell leads, and we do not run lead-capture forms.
- We do not accept payment for a mention, a ranking or a recommendation.
- We do not give medical, legal or financial advice.
How we write
Our guides are written for Australian settings, in Australian English, and are reviewed and updated on a schedule. Where figures or program rules change often, we explain the structure and point to the authoritative source rather than quoting numbers that quietly go stale. Full detail is in our editorial policy.
Corrections and feedback
If you find something inaccurate, out of date or unclear, we want to know. Corrections are made promptly and material changes are reflected in the review date shown on each guide.
