Who writes our content
Guides are produced by the My Caregiver editorial team, drawing on published Australian program information, sector documentation and the practical questions readers actually bring to a care search. Where a topic touches clinical or legal matters, we deliberately stop at general information and direct readers to the appropriate professional or official service.
How we research and write
- We prefer primary sources: official program information and published provider documentation.
- We explain how something works rather than asserting a single number that will date quickly.
- We write in plain Australian English and avoid sector jargon unless we define it.
- We do not publish statistics, testimonials, reviews or case studies we cannot substantiate.
- We do not use superlatives or promise outcomes.
Costs and figures
Care pricing and program rules change regularly. Rather than hard-coding figures that become misleading, our costs guide explains the structure of pricing and directs readers to current published sources and to the provider's own current price list. Where we do cite a figure, we state its source and the date it applies from.
Review and updates
Every guide shows a "last reviewed" date. Guides are reviewed on a scheduled cycle and additionally whenever we become aware of a relevant change to a program, a price setting or common practice. Material changes update the review date; minor typographic corrections do not.
Current review date across the site: September 2026.
Corrections
We correct errors promptly. If a correction materially changes the meaning of a passage, we update the review date so readers can see the page has changed. If you believe something is wrong, please tell us and we will check it.
Independence and commercial disclosure
My Caregiver is published by ORCAA and uses ORCAA Connect as its provider-search service. This relationship is disclosed in our footer, on our about page and wherever we link to the directory.
- Providers cannot pay for a mention, a ranking, a review or a link on this site.
- We do not run sponsored posts or paid guest content.
- We do not sell reader contact details, and we do not operate lead-generation forms.
- We do not publish Review or rating markup, because we do not collect compliant review data.
Safety-related content
For anything touching safety — screening, checks, medication, complaints — we describe in general terms what to look for and which official checks or registrations are relevant, and we direct readers to verify these themselves. We never state or imply that My Caregiver has performed checks on any provider or worker.
Use of automated tools
Where automated tools assist with drafting or editing, the output is reviewed and edited by a person before publication, and the same sourcing and accuracy standards apply. We do not publish unreviewed generated content.
